5 Perfect Outdoor Dining Ideas for Your Next Corporate Event

An outdoor party.

Corporate gatherings take on new energy when they move outdoors. Our patio and grass areas offer a setting where colleagues can unwind, share meaningful conversations, and enjoy contemporary American cuisine crafted with care by Chef Maya Chrestensen, whose thirty years of experience guide every menu we create. With the design-forward ambiance of our restaurant and the hospitality standards shaped by three decades of Command Performance Catering, we create outdoor events that feel polished, warm, and effortless.

1. Patio Layouts That Bring Teams Together

Our elevated patio creates a natural flow for corporate groups. High-top tables encourage mingling before a meeting or presentation, while long tables foster connection over a shared meal. Guests enjoy the fresh air, the industrial-inspired surroundings, and the ease of conversation that comes with an open-air environment.

Many teams appreciate how this space transitions seamlessly from casual networking to a more structured gathering. It offers a unique outdoor dining experience that feels stylish yet approachable, and the setting supports both daytime retreats and evening celebrations.

2. The Grass Area: A Refreshing Setting for Meetings and Celebrations

Our outdoor grass area offers a relaxed, spacious backdrop for company milestones, team achievements, or casual meetings. The greenery softens the atmosphere, helping team members feel present and engaged. It also provides room for breakout sessions, small-group discussions, or light team-building activities.

This space is ideal for businesses seeking a comfortable, open-air environment that still feels thoughtfully designed. With the support of our event manager and the experience of our catering team, gatherings on the grass become inviting and memorable.

3. Food and Drinks That Shine Outdoors

Outdoor events call for dishes that are vibrant, flavorful, and easy to enjoy in a social setting. Our menu offers a wide range of options that work beautifully for outdoor dining, from mini poke tacos and Maine lobster roll sliders to shared appetizers like wild mushroom flatbread or crispy calamari strips. Guests often enjoy pairing these bites with early-evening beverages, including a relaxed glass of wine on the patio.

For larger groups, our streamlined limited menu allows service to remain smooth while still offering generous, satisfying entrées such as the parmesan chicken milanese, “M” BURGER, or Roma baked salmon. These choices ensure that outdoor dining feels elevated without becoming complicated for busy hosts.

4. Crafting a Relaxed Yet Polished Atmosphere

Outdoor corporate events thrive when the setting is comfortable and refined. We use lighting, shade, and thoughtful design elements on both the patio and grass areas to create an inviting ambiance. String lights cast a warm evening glow, umbrellas provide daytime comfort, and the surrounding greenery adds softness to the experience.

This balance helps guests feel at ease while still enjoying an atmosphere appropriate for professional groups. Hosting a patio dinner here allows businesses to bring formality and relaxation together with natural ease.

5. Team-Building and Networking Moments in the Open Air

Outdoor spaces naturally encourage movement, conversation, and interaction, making them ideal for team-building. Many groups incorporate light activities on the grass before enjoying a seated meal. Others use the open-air setting for networking sessions, product toasts, or end-of-quarter celebrations.

The comfortable layout of our outdoor areas allows these moments to unfold organically. For companies seeking relaxed and inviting outdoor dining in California, this style of gathering brings a refreshing change of pace to professional planning.

Weather-Friendly Planning for Any Season

With Southern California’s mild climate, our outdoor spaces remain comfortable year-round. Shade structures, heaters, and lighting help us tailor the setting to the season, giving businesses confidence that their event will feel enjoyable and seamless. Our planning team ensures every detail supports guest comfort, no matter the time of year.

Supporting Larger Groups with Ease

Outdoor venues shine when welcoming larger corporate groups, and our patio and grass areas offer the flexibility needed for smooth service. From pre-ordered appetizers for medium-sized parties to fully customized menus for private events, our team designs a dining experience that reflects efficiency and warmth. The result is an event where guests feel cared for and hosts feel supported.

Conclusion

Outdoor corporate events bring teams together in ways that feel refreshing, energizing, and memorable. Our patio and grass areas provide the perfect setting for meaningful gatherings, complemented by thoughtful design, polished hospitality, and the contemporary American cuisine that defines our restaurant.

Important Message

We want to first and foremost thank everyone that has shown up and supported us over these past five years at our little spot in Moorpark. This was a plot twist we didn’t anticipate closing so soon, but due to a lease-related agreement, we found it best to exit on a high note.

Our last day of service will be Friday, June 5th, 2026.

We are extremely proud of what M on High has meant to our community. We created a space that was designed to share with all! It was a date night getaway, a place where new friends and old acquaintances would meet and catch up, a gathering location for local community groups, and even a space where we would celebrate life’s greatest milestones. This truly was a space for Moorpark! Built by those that love and support this community.

We do want to give a massive shout-out to our amazing team! Our Executive Chef, Maya, who has been given a canvas to create and share her talents with this community outside of our catered events. Thank you to all of our amazing team members who have been dedicated since the beginning, embracing our story, our mission, and our community. You are all truly family!

We invite everyone that we can accommodate to come and visit us in these final weeks. We are sad to close such an incredible chapter, but eager for the next one to start.

Cheers to you! 🥂

With love and gratitude,

The M on High Team
